So I have been thinking how we can use the washer and dryer that we are lucky to have in our classroom to their fullest potential. I have taught a few lessons about doing laundry and Mrs. Reding has written a great song about it but the washer and dryer still often sat in our classroom unused. That is when we came up with the idea to open our own laundromat! We began by coming up with a name and we chose "The Found Sock" and it is a wash and fold service. We began asking the sports teams and signed up a few accounts right away with boys varsity and modified basketball and the girls varsity basketball teams. This business is teaching our students responsibilities, money management, how to use a washer and dryer, folding clothes, and interaction with other people around the building. It is a great job for our students to be part of and they are all proud to participate.
