As part of our "Cooking to Learn” project students served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The students began by choosing to cook a dish that they were interested in learning how to make and then going to the grocery store to buy the ingredients. In the classroom they prepped, cooked, and finally served the meal. It was a great learning experience and they were very proud of the dishes they prepared. We are happy to announce our new "Iroquois Live Entertainment" series. The Iroquois Live entertainment series started when we invited student Catie Sullvan into our classroom in preparation for the LEADE Coffee House concert. It was such a hit with our students and Catie expressed how much she love playing for our class. We have decided to make it part of our program to invite students from around the district into our classroom to share their talents and entertain the class. Today we invited singer and song writer Megan Smith into our classroom as part the series. Megan sings, writes music and plays the guitar and ukulele. It was a great experience for all of us to hear Megan play and sing! Today we spent an amazing day at the People inc. museum of disABILITY. We spent time learning about the obstacles and accomplishments of people with disabilities. We were also lucky to have one of our students with an amazing mixed media art exhibit on display at the museum! |
